The Evie Douglas Glass Award

The annual Evie Douglas Choreography Challenge is staged in memory of Evie, a talented dancer, former pupil and teacher at Fiona Henderson School of Dance. Established and supported by Evie’s mother, Freda Douglas, the Choreography Challenge is designed to encourage dancers aged 10 to 18 from across the Scottish Borders to choreograph an original dance.

The purpose of the Challenge is to promote creativity in dance amongst the young people in the Scottish Borders.

The 2019 Challenge was held at the Eastgate Theatre Peebles on Sunday 24th March with judging taking place after all the pieces had been performed.

The winner received a beautiful glass award to keep for the year, commissioned by Evie’s mother from renowned local artist Bjorn Borseth.
