The Evie Douglas Glass Award

The annual Evie Douglas Choreography Challenge is staged in memory of Evie, a talented dancer, former pupil and teacher at Fiona Henderson School of Dance. Established and supported by Evie’s mother, Freda Douglas, the Choreography Challenge is designed to encourage dancers aged 10 to 18 from across the Scottish Borders to choreograph an original dance.

The purpose of the Challenge is to promote creativity in dance amongst the young people in the Scottish Borders.

The 2019 Challenge will be held at the Eastgate Theatre Peebles on Sunday 24th March with judging taking place after all the pieces have been performed. The winner will be announced in conjunction with the Fiona Henderson School of Dance 2019/20 Scholarship Awards which are taking place earlier in the day.

The winner will receive a beautiful glass award to keep for the year, commissioned by Evie’s mother from renowned local artist Bjorn Borseth.
